About Scanned from the original slide. No other photoshop work. I was taking some pictures of The Toronto City Hall when a boy walked across the half melted ice rink, so I tried some reflection shots and turned the image upside down. March 1972 This building was used as a back-drop in a lot of the scenes of the not so good horror movie Resident Evil Apocalypse.

Wow! This is awesome. I never would have guessed it is a reflection. The mood is terrific and I love the composition. Original!!!!!!!!!! First-rate, Andre. I'm giving you kudos for this one big time. Antonia

Hi Toni,
Thanks for the comments. There is a large, artificial, open, ice rink just off to the side of these buildings. every spring the ice leaves about 3 inches of water and bits of ice. Just right for reflection photos. I'm sure I'm not the first or last to take this type of shot here. I'm going to put up a couple more, with the same sort of feel.

Amazing image Andre, the boy really added a lot to the image and gave a whole different mood!

Thanks Fadel,

I think I like this the best of them all too. I think it's the attitude of the boy that makes it.

Yeah, that's neat stuff, Andre. I don't know if I would have figured out it was a reflection on my own. There's a lot of elements to hold interest in this photo. Very artsy indeed! :)

Thanks Kes,
When I first came to Usefilm, it was lots of fun digging up a lot of my old stuff and breathing new life into the shots digitally. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves how we felt about our work in the past.

Very creative shots of the City Hall, Andre, all of them! I love the angles and the lights. And caught on slide film too - no post processing. Great inspiration for what can be done with the subject :) Thanks for sharing, Ina

Thank you Ina,
When I look back on these images now after so many years, I feel very pleased with myself for even attempting them. As you say, they are scanned straight from the original slides with very little manipulation in Post processing. The one thing that I was able to do was make the blacks a little blacker than they appear in the original. But the rest is pretty much the same. It's good to look back on what we did a number of years ago sometimes.
Andre
