About Sat basking on a dandelion in the early sunshine. It is not yet warmed up so let me take several shots, I was most pleased with this one.

Exellent photo James!!! I think this is a female dungfly. The males are bigger, more yellow and they have more hairs on their body.A good choice on the sigma 105mm macrolens.

Thanks Peter, I think this is a male. It is from a picture of a flower that he just happened to be sitting on so it is a severe crop.

Great macro James, these flies seem to really like dandelions, I got another good shot yesterday, Lovely detail and like how you can see through his wings and see his body and leg

I love the Drop shadow because it makes the picture look more real and 3D-like. I also like the over-all tone and colors and sharpness. Great shot James.

Manuel

James, a fascinating shot. You captured great shapness and the right DOF. The gap in the petals to the top right could be cloned out to enhance slightly IMHO. But nonetheless, a brilliant shot.

Very good close-up shot. The colors are very warm.
