About Taken during a walk on the (red lava) cliffs of the 'squiggly bit' in the east of Madeira. It was really sunny and windy, but with such a view: what a great place to have a bite to eat.....

Wow..... this is beautiful Petal! What a view!!! Love the reflections off the water and the feeling of rugged exposure from being on top of the cliff. Its times like this on long walks where I bet you're glad you have a little light camera instead of the behemoth I cart around!! Think I shall definitely be looking to visit Madeira sometime reasonably soon....

Petal great to see you on the front page, especially as I missed this one, it is a great composition. I love the shapes it is really like the rocks are pointing out to sea, so much texture and colour

Nice composition and execution under harsh lighting conditions. They look like really rugged hills but it sure looks magnificent. You are right, what a great view to have a bite :) SUPERB!!! -- Kind regards, Rafael

Great and magnificent view, Petal. A little bit too strong contrast, in my humble opinion..:)

louis Michael   {K:3132} 5/4/2005
Beautiful scene. great angle taken.

Marc Robin   {K:3385} 5/4/2005
Yes, great shot, I too think the contrast is a bit strong. Although I don't practice (yet) what I am about to preach, I would suggest a ND graduated filter on the sky to balance out the exposure. This photo would be even more amazing with that I think.

Keep it up!
Cheers, Marc

With the camera I use it's: If I could I would, but it's a small 2 MP with absolutely no extras... except the possibility to set a long shutter speed and that only kicks in in low lighting/dark situations, so that no help here... ;-D!! But thanks for the comment anyway...

Great landscape. The brighness of the sun drowns out the color a bit. Looks like a great place to explore and take some photos.

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 5/6/2005
