About Inspired by Alastair Bell's close up filter on Monday, I went to the park with my 4 diopter close up filter attaached to my 90-300 and took loads of shots.

Anyone who's used a 4 diopter will know that they have zero DOF at anything less than F8... so this one was stopped down to F16. LUCKILY IT WAS LIGHT ENOUGH to handhold at around 1/320th of a sec.

A floral from me? Whatever next?

A beautiful image, Ade! The colours are fantastic, and the DOF is perfect in this one, with the fower exploding, from the background.
Dave.

Not only a floral but a pink floral as well !!

Now you have me worried lol

Excellent macro, even at F16 the dof is pretty shallow - I really struggle with light when I reduce the aperture (as you have noticed on the ladybird).

Best wishes,
Steve

And a mightily good floral it is too Ade! Nice to know I inspired you to something like this.....
Love the colours, saturation DOF (lol), and bright airy feel to this shot. Mskes me want to try for another one myself...

...are you sitting?

it was hand held too!!!

a complete rarity.

go a dinky little vice thing with crocodile clips on for £2:50 - can put all sorts of dinky things in there and it holds them firm, perfect for macro... just got to find things to put in now :-(
