I think this picture is one of the most beautiful I have seen. I think everything about this shot is perfect, lighting, color, composition, pose. You did an excellent job on this picture!

I like the foregound subject very much, as she becons me to look 'out' into the distance, as she is doing. While the skin tone on her arm is great, I think the sky is oversaturated, and slightly distracting.
Well done!

Uri Lidsky   {K:4932} 5/9/2005
beautiful, beautiful picture! i think that maybe 1/2 a stop faster might help. it's just that i would like a bit more details on her back and maybe that wouldn't harm the fields so much.
Uri.

Good stuff, Josh. Nice work on the sky. You learn fast.

One tip you may want to try: after selecting the sky, create a new layer with that selection "Layer->New Layer via copy (Ctrl+J)" and try different blending modes with variation on opacity (try Multiply mode).

Regards.

A show to enjoy..!
:)

That is much much better Josh... In my experience the best images require little if any work (ok - on digital cameras they almost always need a bit of sharpening to overcome the effects of the anti-aliasing filters and a little tweak on the curves to fix the dynamic range which with digital isn't as good as film). If an image does need work then subtle changes done over and over work best. Its important to remember though that no amount of PS can make a bad shot as good as if the shot was good in the first place. Glad I could help you and very pleased to see this shot again with such a good response! Looking forward now to seeing what else you can do!!!
Well done... you have a great eye for the composition.

Nice work, Josh.
It's very difficult to get a perfectly balanced exposure with a shot like this, but I think you've done a good job.
Kind regards, Chris

Michael Kanemoto   {K:22103} 12/21/2005
Josh -

Yes. Improved. Looks like a little bit of masking goes a long way - I have performed the same on a lot of my landscapes, and I think this is a much improved shot. Thanks for the comment, and if you ever see anything you love or hate in my portfolio I can tell you the strategy or approach to get to the final results.

Paulo Martel   {K:2550} 12/29/2005
Dear Josh,

this is a fantastic composition, and the way you treated the colors really makes it stand out. Amazing!

Paulo

P.S.-Thanks for the nice comment on my laguna picture.

Excellent work. I particularly like the saturated greens & yellows. Great positioning of the girl giving a very strong composition.

You have many nice images in your portfolio and this one is dreamy and it could also be the starting scene from a movie as well as an unusual ad! GOOD work!
