Hi Tobiah, My first impression was 'What is it? There does not appear to be any focal point to get a feeling for, and in the end it just appeared to be a part of a hedge. Ian Pearson.

Ian,

Thanks you very much for the comment. I'm not sure if this is defense of or rambling about, but all through the process, the purpose of the photo was merely to show parts of this "mini" tree. Hence the title. The trunk was suppose to be the focal point with a very shallow depth of field. I took this particular image while trying to frame it in such a way that the branch from lower left was out of focus and took your eye to the trunk and then the other branches would lead your eye away again.

In short, there was no real "point" to this photo other than an exercise in focal length, lighting and composition. I think that the exposure is right on, and the composition is decent.

Hope this clears things up. It is what it is. Exactly as you put it... part of a hedge.

Cheers,
Toby
