About Subject background: You see different pictures of water bubbles that I photographed with a macro lens within a pan. On the right, I turned on some lights, and this resulted in a hell-like reflection ;-) The other ones show differences in sharpness, DOF and the size of the bubbles.

My alternate view of water

PS concept: virtually nothing

Honest feedback highly appreciated

Very cool idea and result for this project. My only objection might be that the two images on the left are too similar to stand up as separate units to the fiery image on the left?

Saqib Zulfiqar   {K:2770} 5/9/2005
Well, certainly looks interesting. Must compliment the thought process that went into to. However out of the three I would pick the top left one which seems to be more in focus to be better out of the three.
Best Regards,
Saqib Zulfiqar

Well - i think it works great....the upper left6 part have smaller bubbles and the bottom one have bigger..... both very different from the right one. Works!!!! Nice idea!

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 5/9/2005
I'm seeing it as one, which is an indication that the triptych composition is a good one.

Elsje Fiederelsje   {K:6320} 5/9/2005
GREAT!!!

What an interesting experiment! I find Hell the most exciting, but that's not all that unusual, I suppose . . .

All the best,
--George

Hi Stefan,

thanks a lot for the honest feedback. You're always very open in your comments, and I appreciate that a lot.

My hope was that the two on the left would differ just from the bubble size and the focus. I left the color for the part on the right, the only idea was to change the toning of one of the lefties. But rejected that =)

best wishes,

thilo

Hi Saqib,

I really thought about posting just one of the three but then went for a tryptich as I wasn't able to decide ;-)

thanks for the feedback,

thilo

Hi Antonio,

It was kind of amazing to see these bubbles and the textures. And it wasn't easy to shoot the pictures as the steam always went on the lens =)

You put your macro lens within a pan of boiling water??? You ARE brave!

:)

Now, seriously: bravo! Wonderful creation. It does not look like water at all. In fact, on the right, it looks like FIRE!

Nice work, sir!

Hi Thilo,

Interesting how much the coloured image looks like a macro of stained glass. I remember trying a few close ups of some amber stained glass a number of years ago, with similar effects. I'm not sure if I really like the three images together though. Just my taste. I don't mind mixing colour and B&W on the same image. But separated by frames doesn't seem right to me somehow. Now that I say that watch this win an award :)

Great idea my dear friend... Love how the different bubbles look... The project is very original...

I think I would have left the two images in the left in one pic and the one in the right as stand alone... Love the look of it...

Cheers,

MaLuisa
