An amazing photo. The placement of the leaf in diagonal position accentuates its dynamism while opting for B&W is the best option since the contrast between the leaf and the darker color of water is very pronounced.

Fabulous! Can't think of anything else to say other than any additional information on how you took this would be very useful. Did you use a tripod? F-stop? Did you take it in B&W or convert it later? If you converted it, did you use Photoshop and Channels? Simply super!!

Thanks Sarah . . . no tripod . . . taken in color and converted . . . lots of PS work to eliminate distractions from the water's surface . . . a bit of PS on contrast and brightness . . . to get it balanced . . .

the detail in the leaf is perfect but whats happening with the water? this black stroke on the right doesnt seam natural...

Thanks Abel, the black lines are shadows from a wooden veranda above the water, and are captured here just as they appear to the eye at the chosen angle . . . the surface tension of the water bends the light and shadow into the curved forms.
