Wow, I hope you don't mind, but this one's going on the desktop. The composition and sweeping DoF/focus is very effective. Just beautiful.

hi Reza - mind? not at all! i'm flattered that you would opt to have this on your desktop. I'm working on printing photos for a floral show i'm putting on with 3 other artists this weekend here on hornby, plus several other jobs, all of which keep me way too busy & don't give me time for submitting much or commenting here. I do thank you for your support & feedback & welcome the time that my life slows down a little so i can be more involved & inspired by all that is available on usefilm. all the best - jennifer

jennifer this is so fantastic. no i am not a flower person myself but i certainly enjoy looking at one when it is this beautiful. i wonder if people who view this appreciate how perfect the light is on this fotograph? the subtle highlight on the inner rim... right before you transition to the darker center. then you have such terrific highlights on the filaments and anthers (oh dear do i have my parts correct?).

anyway it is beautiful.

by the way jennifer... why the title? honestly i'm shocked no one asked the question yet. i realize this flower blooms in the winter but it is far from being lugubrious :)
