About This spectacular hemet was a gift from the Pope to Henry VIII and is the only part of the whole suit still in existance.

It has become the symbol of the Royal Armouries in Leeds (UK) and really is a most pecular and fascinating artifact.

I was there with Steve Bowden and Andy Williamson yesterday and got some pretty decent shots but found distractin backgrounds to be a problem.

To get round it with this thos, I just nicked a nice sky from another shoot and used tha instead of the TV screen that was originally there!

Excellent work Ade, love what you have done here. You ought to put up the original just to show how difficult the background really was !

This turned out great.

Sorry to hear about your bus also !

Best wishes,
Steve

That's some helmet Ade. Wonder how much it weighs.
Hey, I didn't realise they had opticians back then, that's what's amazing about this site - so educational.
Neat bit of PS work in cutting out too.

Excellent shot! As Den says - opticians way back then!!! He obviously didn't go to Specsavers though!
Great shot and excellent PS work

there's some seriously big armour at this place!!! Bit dark in there, take a tripod, and the reflections off the glass is a pain - polariser needed.

I was in specsavers yesterday..... spooky :-)

Oh No - Is that Steve I see in there LOL What a fantastic shot, wonderful detail. I love the sky you put it on too, excellent PS work here as well. I think maybe I would take out the sunny bit - as this is such a omninous/menacing image, and you have created a really good mood for it with the sky. He is very frightening, so I wondered if I made him gold [to make our fortunes too LOL] would be look a little more benelovent
- but no he still looks very malevolent - will attach it for you to see
Margaret

A quirky and quiant helmet. My lord, why a pope would give such a thing to a king ! But then, all through out histroy, chruch was a violent organisation in disguise !

Nice one. Also agree with Margaret's softened mood.

regards,
ken.
