Sandra Berry   {K:7917} 5/21/2005
Greetings Humayun
Photo has beautiful rich color tones of blue. The perspective is good and creates interest, but seem croped a bit tight on the bottom, would like to see the entire entrance.
Best regards, Sandra

lavendu ...   {K:4882} 5/21/2005
thank you for sharing this beautiful capture of a mosque in isfahan.
I like the cropping. people on the ground would distract the concentration on the architecture.
but in my opinion the blue of the sky is too much saturated and therefore catches the eye.
lavendu

This is magnificent, both the building and your shot. Nice work.

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47727} 5/22/2005
A piece of art, your message gets effectively. It stands as a hotshot against the clear blue sky. A splendid perspective work. Saeed

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87615} 5/25/2005
This is our first, but hopefully not last meeting on the pages of "Usefilm", Mr. Riswan. Your wonderful photos show me that you live in Iran, a country I know only form the excellent movies it makes. At the danger of repeating myself I will state that although you posted only four photos so far, all of them show a great sense for the use of light for making pictures, which is the essence of photography, as wel as a sense for composition and some humor, without which life would be dull.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay futher visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime, I thank you for your very kind words about my "In Monet's garden 3" and my "Memories from Paris 5 and 6."
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Humayun Rizwan   {K:3223} 5/25/2005
Thanks a lot, Rafi for visiting my little portfolio and your kind and generous remarks. I too hope that we continue communicating.. as I still have a lot to learn. Just one correction.. I don't live in Iran. I live in Pakistan (a doctor by profession) and work with Save the Children, a non-profit international ornanization that also work for emergencies around the world. I was in Iran last year for about 2 months for the Bam eathquake emergency response and on the way back I visited a few cities including Isfahan, Kerman and Tehran. I loved that country.. made many good friends and took some very nice pictures that I'll be sharing on this site.. along with other pictures from my beautiful country.
I've gone through your bio but would take some time to see all your photos in detail.
I've recently uploaded a picture, "looking out of the box" would really appreciate your expert comments about that and any suggestions for improvement.
Best regards
Humayun

Paul's Photos   {K:35218} 5/26/2005
I love the perspective and angle.. beautiful architecture.. nice work

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87615} 5/26/2005
Dear Humayan,
thank you for the correction. When I thought you were an Iranian, I was afraid it might cause you trouble if I mentioned that I had been to Iran in 1966-7, on my way to and from Kurdistan. I looked for the photo you wanted me to comment on, but it was not yet there.
As a doctor, if you are intersted in psychoanalysis, write to me at rafael1030@bezeqint.net
put Usefilm and your book in the subject line, and the book (1.02 MB) will be sent to you at no cost to you. You will be the second Pakistani Dr. I will have sent the book to this way.
You may get an idea about it at www.drspringmann.com
at which the important parts to pay attention to are Dr. Joyce Mc Dougall's preface (She is a central figure in the psychoanalytic community) and the story of Adam, the first schizophrenic patient whose psychotherapy is desribed in the book, although the latter is a little outdated. The book was written with the interested non mental-health professional also in mind and several UF members have received it per e mail. the last reaction was that it was "easy reading."
Best regards,
Rafi

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87615} 5/26/2005
Dear Humayan,
My e mail address is
rafael1930@bezeqint.net
and not as written.
1930 is my birth year, so I ought to know. The rest stands fast.
Best regards,
Rafi

George Black   {K:101993} 5/26/2005
An unusually beautiful and detailed view. The sharpening gives great character to the individual tiles. And the play of the blue sky off those of the structure is superb.

Best regards,
--george

Humayun Rizwan   {K:3223} 5/27/2005
Dear Rafi,
Thanks a lot for the offer. I'm definitely interested in psychoanalysis and would love to read your book. Will send that e-mail tonight. Visited your site.. and I am really impressed by your achievements and illustrious career. It's honor to know and communicate with an eminent scholar like you.
Best regards

P.S: The picture is there in my portfolio.. one of the four that I posted so far! The title is "looking.. out of the box!"
