About This image is all about contrasts - colour contrasts of the blue/purple against the green and contrasts of light and shade. The fresh young fern provides an attractive shape for foreground interest amongst the bluebells and shooting into the light at the edge of the woods lends some drama to the image. I used a polariser to bring out the colour of the fern and bluebells and a 2 stop soft ND grad filter to keep the sun's brightness in check as the foreground would otherwise appear black!

X-files meets the bluebells. I particularly like how you have captured the tender quality of the leaves up above.

All ingredients that I love are there, rích colors and contrast in backlight, wide angle, and wise composition. This is not easy digitally, but with slide it is really a masterpiece, congrats !

Excellent composition, Barry. The use of the fern as foreground interest works really well.

I've heard bluebells are really hard to photograph (not having tried it myself) but you have done a splendid jog with this shot.

Excellent execution with the grad and the polariser, beautiful colour and the dark tree barks create a nice pleasant set of lines.
