About I took this photo during the Memorial day parade. It was a group of reservists in formation. The only thing I don't like is I cut off the heel of the forst boot. Oh well. Take care Friends! My best..............John

I think that is a great composition and a great idea! great the choice for a partial desaturation and for that frame.

Lea Mulqueen   {K:7396} 6/2/2005
Very nice. The shadows and bright areas add a lot of interest.

Jim Gamble   {K:12155} 6/2/2005
John, I like this shot, its a good one, with good desaturation.
I never would have noticed the cut off heal had you not mentioned it.
God bless,
Jim Gamble

I think the boot is fins sans the heel.
(so don't feel like a heel!!) Corny I know.

GREAT picture! and shadows are nice also,
good eye seeing this one.

Have a GR8 evening,
Lori :)

Alison DuFlon   {K:36557} 6/3/2005
Very nicely done and I like how you have only colored the uniforms of these soldiers, it makes them become the sole focus of our attention and creates a powerful image. Alison

Brenda Guiles   {K:6128} 6/3/2005
I like this view John! Even though you think you cut off the heel it really isn't noticeable, I mean I would not have picked up on it had you not said anything! I like the compo and here! A very creative image! Love the selective coloring too! :)

Vey well composed, John. The cut off heel you regret is hardly noticed and the whole photo carries a highly symbolic meaning.
Thank you, my friend, for your very generous comment on my "From the field 1."
Best regards,
Rafi

Superb. Great composition. Great colours (and lack of...!)

I guess it's the sort of image where you need to take lots of shots to try to get the right combination of all the details. Here, we've basically got legs, boots, grass and shadows. That's it. But then the trick is to arrange them perfectly.

AJ

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 6/3/2005
Very interesting capture John. Well cropped. You might darken the sunlit toes of the two middle boots to match the near one. Great eye. Don.

Mary Brown   {K:69853} 6/3/2005
Neat the way the light shines on the tips of the boots. Great presentation with the grass desaturated. Wonderful job.
Mary
