Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47727} 6/3/2005
Outstanding skilful work, by converting to B&W you did great in moving a key feature to a point of powerful looking art photography style, an image worth award. Saeed

Thanks so much for your comment and encouragement! Generous of you . . .

Jan Graziano   {K:17902} 6/3/2005
Success - you did go beyond the ordinary. Really, really like this shot, the presentation, and the light airy appearance of the whatever they are. This is ART! Would be interesting to see the color version too. Please... Jan

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:53382} 6/3/2005
I like this sharp and crisp image... I like the simple framing too.
Regards,
Khaled.

Thanks A lot, Jan -- most obliging of you to ask ;) Took me a few minutes to adjust the colors but here is the color version. I am just in love with color, I guess.

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 6/3/2005
Nice black and w hite image. Good detail of what looks like a milkweed.. Very nice. Don.

Evelyn Mayes   {K:8132} 6/3/2005
You're right, Don! Butterfly weed is what some call it. Want some?? These spout and grow real easily ALL OVER the place.

Jan Graziano   {K:17902} 6/3/2005
Evelyn - Thank you for uploading the color photo. It is beautiful - but for whatever reason - the black and white has more impact - almost unworldly. Love them both. Jan

Deb Mayes   {K:19605} 6/3/2005
Really incredible. :) I think you succeeded in reaching beyond the ordinary - it's like they're made of light and gossamer.

Evelyn Mayes   {K:8132} 6/3/2005
Thanks Deb -- It is not a far stretch because everyone tries things in B&W and sepia tones but it seemed to make "weeds" special somehow ;) Thanks for your responsive reply to my pic.

Cheryl Ogle   {K:24494} 6/3/2005
Very interesting shot - feels like little lights - those optical ones. I think you made your goal. :)

Mary Brown   {K:69853} 6/4/2005

Kind regards
Merete

Cernan Catig   {K:2896} 6/5/2005
loves the B&W effect...more dramatic

George Chene   {K:318} 6/5/2005
Hi Evelyn,

I think there is more mood in the B&W. When you removed the colors, other aspects of the photograph stand out. The shape, lighting, contrast, texture and tone have become the dominant elements. I wonder what it would look like on a purely black bacground - no frame lines. ;)

George

Larry Hammond   {K:16631} 6/6/2005
Very unique Evelyn, love the way you put plant over edge of frame, and B/W is nice. Thanx for comments my orchids.

Larry
