Hello again Leslie, I love this!! Very subdued lighting, but it is subtle & for my money works really well - as nature intended.
I don't have the 50mm 1.8 in my 'arsenal', please could you tell me what the minimum focus distance is, you are really close here - or did you use extension tubes??

.45m/1.5 ft....and yes I was close...this lens suprises me all the time...I just printed a 12 x 16 of this one and impressed myself :)
no extension tube and there is some post work to accentuate the subdued light as it was early morning

Wow Leslie, this is wonderful. The lighting along with your famous touch make this beautiful. This butterfly looks somewhat bigger than that we have had here. Ours are about 1 1/2 to 2 inches when wings are folded up. Thanks for sharing. Don.

Beautiful capture. I like how this is presented but almost feel you could crop this more to show greater detail in the wings, thorax and head of the butterfly.
