About Ok.. something a little different...not sure who will appreciate it but I like its vibrancy.

I did not want to post a normal fireworks photo. Instead, I wanted a photo that was a bit more abstract yet still showed some of the fireworks bursts. I debated if I should upload a different image that was even more abstract but thought that this photo had the best overall composition. I like the various colors captured in this image.. I almost named this "my universe"...

Very nice and happy image Paul... I agree with you it's not a usual photo of some fireworks...
Good work my friend and welcome back,

Rebecca Raybon   {K:26631} 6/4/2005
Fantastic colors. Vibrant is the word dude!! This would make a very cool poster.

Tom Horton   {K:1605} 6/4/2005
Amazing photo. Could be an impressionist painting. What a great job freezing a moment of chaos. Is this a frame from a burst expsoure? And was it an auto exposure or manual? The shutter speed is perfect for the effect, and I would love to know how it was chosen.

Congradulations on a masterpiece.

mario balzan   {K:579} 6/4/2005
Good shot, would make a stunning impressionist painting.

Pinar Yazicioglu   {K:7607} 6/4/2005
good work, gives energy though a little bir caotic.

NN     {K:26787} 6/4/2005
WOW ... you turned this into a very artsy abstract! Love the colours & compo!!! Congrats, Paul!

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 6/4/2005
Hi Paul,

a lot of things going on here ;-)

I guess you succeded in doing something abstract with the fireworks. There is so much going on that it become somehow abstract to the eye. like a firework composing instead of single strikes. very good outcome.

best wishes,

Thilo

L. Gould   {K:11900} 6/4/2005
I love the different shapes and colors. This is not the usual fireworks shot. Very well done!

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47515} 6/4/2005
Your capture is a different from very classic fire works show, apart from the spectacular shape and formation, the angle view as of you were standing very close to the place where the fireworks launched, very particular and fabulous job. Saeed

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 6/4/2005
Thanks for the comment.. I manually set the shutter speed of the camera so that it would not overexpose and have to many blurred lines while also making sure it was not too over or under exposed. Obviously I used a tripod and zoomed in on the fireworks display.... thanks again

jon parsons   {K:13630} 6/4/2005
HI PAUL, MARVELOUS NIGHT SHOT OF THE FIREWORKS! GREAT WORK AND VERY NEAT TO VIEW!....JON

Peter De Rycke   {K:37694} 6/4/2005
Wow, what a vibrant display .. i think the first look offers quite a difficult shot to orientate, these is flares, explosions and smoke allover, but i think the different colours and the flares show some structure .. Peter

Marcus Armani   {K:35759} 6/4/2005
Beautiful Fireworks shot, very much different than the usuall, I really like this. very well done.

Roger Williams   {K:81877} 6/4/2005
I think it's a masterpiece. I can't praise it too highly. And for me, it captures the firework display far more effectively than the conventional photos, which are as close to what it actually looks like as those long-exposure shots of rivers and waterfalls are! Straight to my favourites!!

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 6/4/2005
Thanks Roger.. glad that you like it...I have those conventional shots but I think this type captures more of the emotion... thanks again

Maria Luisa Vial   {K:36017} 6/5/2005

David Hofmann   {K:23827} 6/5/2005
bang! wow what a phantastic shot! I tried fireworks so many times, but never got anything that was even close to that!

Len Webster   {K:20694} 6/5/2005
Reminiscent of experimental paintings, though the formations are recognizable as exploded fireworks. Interesting.

Stephen Bowden   {K:64513} 6/5/2005
This is one of the best firework photographs I have ever seen Paul.

Mark Julian   {K:35080} 6/8/2005
Wow ! This is really nice ! I've never shot fireworks but this just looks great. I don't know why the ratings at 5.3 - it should be much higher. I think capturing something with this kinda perfect compo and placement is quite hard - a 7 from me. Take care, Mark

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:86479} 6/8/2005

Wow! What a great number of colorful bursts. Was this a time exposure? Nice work.

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 7/3/2005
Thanks Allen.. most times I use long exposure to catch the fireworks but this one was taken without a a long exposure. I also zoomed in a bit on the fireworks to get a more abstract feel to the shot. But, I do have many traditional fireworks shots as well :)
