Very pretty shot David. Love the mutted tones. She looks hungry...watch out. :)

Amanda Keeys   {K:9349} 6/4/2005
I LOVE the angle. And you always do it so well. A lot of people are scared to use such a high angle on a child, but I love the way it emphasises her size in the world. Beautiful light and focus, and I am totally loving the softness on it too.

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:53382} 6/4/2005
Very nice oblique photo lines David... I like this slanted composition as well as the incomplete desaturation of the colors.
Well done my friend,
Khaled.

Very nice . beautiful portrait ...

Carsten Ranke   {K:14461} 6/4/2005
Looks as if you focussed @her eyes (again, nice example for the portrait quality of this lens). What did you do to soften, did you make an overall effect or a regional adjustment (the eyes do not look so much softened as the rest of the image) ?
Regards;
Carsten

Great job! I love the classic still life look of it. And the point of view is nice too!

Lynne Stacey   {K:529} 6/4/2005
Awesome angle and tones! Love the diagonal feel to this, beautiful work David!

Paul's Photos   {K:35218} 6/4/2005
great shot.. love the angle and perspective. nicely captured

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 6/4/2005
thanks so much Amanda! I have to admit that only one out of maybe 30 shots I take turnes out to be close to what I like and wanted to get.
I love the extre high angle since it opens the face and eyes very nice and you have the shoulders, arms and body as a background instead of the room. Either I do this kind of overhead shot or I go down to eye level. The inbetweens usually don't look so good.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 6/4/2005
thanks Cheryl, she was waiting for her food otherwise I could have waited forever for her to give me a look up there.

Pat Fruen   {K:12073} 6/5/2005
That is gorgeous light across her face and that expectant expression is just lovely. Really nice shot.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 6/5/2005
thanks Lynne, I've done this shot so many times but I like it so miuch I can't help it

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 6/5/2005
thanks Klifton. Its interesting that you mention the classical still life look. Now that you mentioned it I agree it does have that touch a little.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 6/5/2005
hi Carsten, of course I focused the lens on the eyes, but I didn't do anything in PS to make them stronger or sharper. The reflection of the large window makes the eyes look really nice. On the other photo I used the erasor to remove the blurry effect from the eyes.

BTW, PS2 is definitely worth the update. They have many new tools that are specific to photography.

Bea Friedli   {K:9834} 6/6/2005
wow ! I love the perspective..great use of b/w..super light and tack sharp eyes..wonderful

Johann pinto   {K:-720} 6/10/2005
great perspective, very unusual for a kid, for me is really difficult to photograph kids, you're lucky catching a great moment, I like the softness and desaturated colors, thanks for sharing such a beautiful image with us :)
God bless your kids, they are beautiful :)

Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 6/12/2005

Haha, that is indeed a great angle, and her expression, plus the way she's holding that fork made me laugh. :)

nice framing and lighting, too.
