Capture: Canon EOS-1D Mk II, Sigma AF 120-300 f2.8 APO EX IF HSM with Canon EF 1.4x II (at 346mm), 1/1500, f8, ISO 400 (The teleconverter was ?permanently attached? to the body to keep dust out when changing between the 120-300 and 500.)
A large part of the fight is posturing like in the image. They slowly walk around side-by-side until they find the right moment to strike (see the comment), almost like a slow-motion boxing match.
