Well first off I thank you for your comments on my photos, its much appreciated. Secondly your are doing a very nice job yourself, this shot of the wild rose is very nice, excellent detail and wonderful colors !!
third and last. I really like your approach to life, your humor seems to be very much like mine
live and let live, get all you can out of today, and if tomorrow comes fire up again.
Thanks again
jimc

Dear Mr. Jim...
Thank you very much for your kind words!!
About my comments, it's sometimes hard to find the right words, but better a bit less perfect english than perfect dutch don't you 'thingkx'... ;-D!!! And yes I'm all for today, tomorrow and and.... there's a lot to look out for and to enjoy... The live and let live approach: we've got a saying here in the Netherlands... 'what you don't want to happen to you, don't do that to anyone else'... I think that's a good philosophy and accepting that not everyone thinks/is the same will get you far...
Hope we can enjoy a lot more beautiful pictures on UF.... Greetings, Petal.

Kind regards, Chris

The colours in this picture are wonderfull. It is nice sharp, but in my opinion a bit too sharp, i like it the most when in flowerpictures the background is a bit blurry. At the other hand, the frame is really wonderfull, it wonderfully fits the picture, wonder how you make those... (i m trying to get this result to, but it won't work..) Well, overall still a great picture!

Greets,
Lex.

Now young Petal, how do you keep finding these wonderful little flowers to shoot? I love the 'tangled vermicelli' look of the central portion of the flower... beautiful colours too - the pink is sooo vivid!!!

And what makes you think your english is less than perfect? If it hadn't been for your profile I would never have known you weren't a native english speaker! And I have to agree with Jim about your sense of humour... Always look forward to your comments - usually something there to make me smile!

Well done my friend!!!

Hi there Lex,
The framing, well here a short 'how to do or not to do'.... ;-D!!
First I resize the pic, that isn't always a great succes (loss of detail and/or sharpness, but 800x800 is the limit so.....).
Then I found a very nice freeware program (for non-commercial use): Framefun and I let it 'go through the motion' twice... because you can add a frame and one (inner border) but I always add an outer border (or in this case frame) to it as well.... :-D!!
Hope this will get you started, if you've got any questions left, just drop a message!!! Good luck with it... ;-D!!!
