About Excuse the bad pun. Couldn't think of any better title. A little bit more of some of the architecture in and around Harvard Square.
The light was getting low and I am surprised that this one came out this good for hand held with this light.

Hi Andre,

30s, really? =)

anyway, I like the geometry here and the bold outcome. a mild pity goes out to the second column which is covered by the leaves.

best wishes, Thilo

Hi Thilo,
I've just counted and 10 of the last 28 photos that I have posted are all withing about a three minute walking distance of eachother. The Harvard Square area of Cambridge is an extremely photogenic area. Actually, come to think of it, I even used the photos of three skeletons from the museum in another three images, so that makes 13 of 28.
Of course I took many more that for one reason or another I will not use. But it is very easy to get nice shots there. I have some that I am thinking what to do with of an old cemetary (pre-dates the American Revolution I think) Maybe later.

I don't know, Andre... I kind of like the darkness in the top of this one (or has it been 'adjusted'?) I would almost consider making it darker around the urn, to make it stand out more.

I think the problem with darkness in my image was that the darkness was covering the foreground, and there was detail that was lost that people wanted to see, but the light was so low because of the sun setting. whereas here, the leaves aren't as important to the image, and if anything add a business to the background...

I think it really depends on your style, and how you would prefer to have it look, but let me know what you think, this darkness topic is probably the most interesting conversation I've had on usefilm. :)

Other than that, though, great shot! the colors and forms in the image really give it that classic feel, good job with it!

Kevin,
No, I didn't do any separate adjustment in the top half of this. You are absolutely right when you explain the difference between this image and yours. You might enhance your image by going with more crisp, light, clarity in the bottom of the image. But, I might gain by going a little darker still in the leave area to take away some of the busyness.
Andre
