About In contrast with the three other images in my Castlerigg Dawn series, this one's in full Velvia colour. I hadn't moved in close to the circle at this point and so the sheep are draped nonchalantly on and around the stones blissfully unaware of the amazing sky above. I used a polariser and 2 stop soft ND grad to capture the sky in all its glory.

Very beautiful with emphasis on the sky

Ciprian Ilie   {K:13544} 6/13/2005
Fabulous sky, this is almost like a painting; never realized you can get such results with the ND filters.

Really beautiful, well done!

Ciprian

Hi again,

As I was submitting my comment I noticed this was taken with a 50mm. That is some lens you've got, it's got a great wide angle effect.

Regards,
Ciprian

Barry Wakelin   {K:7838} 6/13/2005
Thanks Ciprian. The 50mm lens on 6x7 medium format is equivalent to 25mm on a 35mm camera which gives a nice wide angle.

Morgan Estill   {K:3786} 6/13/2005
Absolutely amazing color. The clouds are spectacular, as well. Very well done.

Amazing!
The strong colours are wonderful, and the composition even more!
I like very much the "gran angular" (I do not know how to say it in english), I mean, the wide lens.
In my opinion, it is a 7

I love the composition, and the sky here is incredible. Nature smiled. :) I also love velvia with a passion - it does wonderful things for scenes like this. Excellent.

Carsten Ranke   {K:14461} 6/14/2005
Excellent landscape, I love those strong colors and the gorgeous sky formation. Would also be interesting to try out a B&W conversion.

Regards

Carsten

Wonderful one.
Glorious sky with a perfect exposure,
Colours are beautiful You've got the best of that "old" film. (it's a shame it's going out of production)

Barry Wakelin   {K:7838} 6/14/2005
It is indeed a shame that they're stopping production of Velvia 50. The good news is that early reports suggest that Velvia 100 is just as nice. It'll be a shame to have to use such a 'fast' film though as all those blurred rivers at dusk will be more difficult to capture!

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 6/14/2005
Another awesome land / skyscape, Barry!
Fantastic image.
Kind regards, Chris

I love this version in full glorious colour, with the deep blue sky and the amazing cloud formations. The clouds make a superb shape and you have used that to great advantage, Barry.

It's as if a great power emanates fromthe circle.
