I think the shot is more on the left, with the sense of motion in the wings, and the background as well. I might crop over there. One thing I use for highlights, where possible, is an nd and polarizer, even just the glass from a pair of sunglasses (I have a Rayban mounted as a 62mm filter, just for ex).
