Advice for this weekend...keep it simple and dont let her pose. Catch her naturally. Oh and no wrinkly backdrops, LOL! ;)

Well firstly tell me whats not to your liking with this, and then tell me what I've done thats better?
While I was sick at home last week, I spent hours going back on shots from earlier this year and found a heap I really liked and should have posted at the time. If you'd take a close look you'd see that lots of others also liked them. Oh and catch those new awards I was given?? LOL

Very interesting interpretation Mike...at the time she was 3 weeks away walking down the aisle, so that rules out sadness (hopefully). As for satisfied...well it was the night after her boyfriends bucks night (bachelor party) which he spent with strippers of course, so no doubt Nic was indeed satisfied LOL. First thought is I can't believe it took makeup to make her feel sexy! Her incredible eyes and luscious lips, all surrounded by her dark hair, screamed "sexy" in the shots of her you've posted before! Will you introduce her to me when I come? :) I don't have any definate plans to return, but an added new "site to see" might entice me to return sooner rather than later. :)
On the techinical side, the shot is fantastic, and not just because of the subject. :) Wonderful light, excellent contrast and tone, nice pose, piercing gaze, and great tight framing.
Uh, I just read the other comments, and I guess some of my comment is no longer relevant, but maybe you and Nic will get a kick out of it anyways.

Hey peta. For some reason your response to my comment on this image doesn't show up on my list of "Comments to Me," otherwise I would have responded sooner.
I was in Australia for about two and a half months (late March to early June) in 2003 on a self-drive around a good part of the eastern half of the country: Sydney, Melbourne, Tassie, Adelade, Uluru, Darwin (with a detour to Bungle Bungle), Cairns (learned to scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef), then back the coast to Sydney. I'd like to go back to see WA and to spend more time along the QSL and NSW coasts --- I ended up doing almost more scuba diving than shooting at the end of the trip. :) Now that I know of some other "sites" to see in Melbourne, I'll have to go back there too. :) I'd also be able to have another shot at the Twelve Apostles --- the weather was terrible when I was there.

I think you have done a great job with this portrait.
Because your setting very interesting, the eye light is very perfect, the contrast between Black and white tones is very rich, you cropped very well.
Really beautiful portrait of a beautiful model, the most important of all, a deep look for beauty model to me…!!!!

Great portrait... And they way she felt it's reflected on the image.
I'd probably add some "film-grain" to the image along with a soft-focus and a tiny bit of difusse glow... It will look marvelous!
