About These are Poblanos(when dried, they are called Anchos). There a pretty mild pepper, but with a great flavor(better than a Bell Pepper IMO) I've gone a little pepper crazy this year in my garden. I'm so looking forward to my Serranos and Habaneros being ready. mmmmm....Serranos.....mmmm....Habaneros....

Habaneros?? Spicy!

Haha...I can barely stand /pepper/...

Chris Nichols   {K:7044} 6/22/2005
Then these(pictured) might be the pepper for you...barely any heat:)...but very tasty! Habaneros don't bother me as much as a small Thai Sun Pepper....those things pack a wallop!!!!.....but they're sooooo good:)

Chris, I can't take the hot ones!!! so I bet I'd like these. Love your perspective/DOF here, and you know how much I covet your BW film!!!! Wish you were here to teach me a thing or two...do you do your own developing/printing? I'm sure I've probably asked you that before, can't remember. I just can't get enough of that "real" BW...nothing like it!

Cheers
Jan

Interesting view and about...but wonder about the b&w...Really would like to see the original version :) Well done.
Cheers,Ursula

I totally wish I developed my own b&w. That is something I really would like to learn:) Ilford's XP2 is a C-41 black and white film and can be developed at any lab...I have mine done at Walmart(sooooooo embarrased for having to admit that:)). However, when it comes back from the lab, since it isn't a true black and white and the lab prints it on color paper, there is usually a cyan cast to it. So I'll go into Photoshop and Desaturated it, work the Curves a little and then I go to Selective Color. I go to the color Black and adjust the Black Levels. It gives it a better black and white look than Cyan and White:). Hope that helps. I love Ilford XP2....huge fan....just wish they hadn't raised the price....D'oh!!!!

Thanks Ursula! I think that I would like to see this in color as well. I shot it with Black and White film. But I think that's a good idea. I'll have to wait for more Poblanos to grow. I think it'd nice with Fuji NPH....the Poblanos are a nice deep green. Really pretty color. That film might bring it out nice. Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it!:)

Excellent composition!!! Love the tones and brightness of the peppers...

I am mexican Chris, and peppers are almost out of my diet, but love to eat the poblanos with cheese stuffed inside... They are mild and have a great flavor... Now... Habaneros... never in my life... I admire you for eating them...HEHHEHEHE

You know a lot about peppers... :)

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Maria,
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I'm counting the days for my first Habanero....it'll probably be somewhere in mid-July. I was wondering what kind of cheese do you usually use for the Poblanos. I've heard about that and really really want to try it. Thanks again!

Maria Luisa Vial   {K:36017} 6/28/2005
I do not know if you there is any mexican food store near you... We usually use what we call "queso fresco" (Fresh Cheese), but you can also use Monterrey Jack or Cheddar...

Thank you so much for your comments...

Cheers,

MaLuisa
