About Sunset in the Brasilian Cerrado. The mesa formation of the Serra da Canastra is visible to the right.

+++

This shows a bit more PS signs than my usual, but I do actually like it this way. The photo was exposed for the sky so quite a bit of blended layer work was done to bring detail back to the foreground. the are around the top and far sides of the mesa were the most troublesome.

Thank you for your critiques.

Que linda paisagem Angelo!
Belos raios e cores do céu!

Valeu!

Petal Wijnen   {K:47835} 6/22/2005
Super sky, I can imagine why you wanted to focus/set your exposure on that... ;-D!!! I won't even ask how you brought 'detail' (and don't forget light and texture!!) back to the foreground, but you did a great job!!!! Wonderful colors, great view and good composition... job well done!!!

Lukasz Kuczkowski   {K:14684} 6/22/2005
the sky is really amazing as well as the composition; there is only one thing which disturbs my view - this red thing" at the bottom of the picture - I would prefer grass there;
anyway, good shot

Dino Lupani   {K:15101} 6/22/2005
Drammatica e spettacolare, splendida e suggestiva immagine.
Ciao

Bob Fraga   {K:263} 6/22/2005
Interesting. I like the the feeling I get from the shot. Like the grass fields are calm but confusion lurks overhead. Great shot.

un cielo straordinario,

Pace e salute, M.

Beautiful landscape of the Nature. Sky is wondeful here.

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 6/22/2005
Hi Angelo,

You have improved a lot with PS, if I may add this. the sky kicks some butt, and the detail is perfect. I see some problems when the mesa hits the sky, but as you named it: That's the troublemaker. So just go ahead and test some tweakings with the feathers etc.

great work anyway. congrats

best wishes,

Thilo

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 6/22/2005
Lukasz,

You are right to notice that patch. That "red thing" is the earth. I should have noticed that when taking the photo and repositioned myself, though I'm not sure there were any spots totally free from these gaps in the grass.

Thanks for the very thorough observation and comment.

Saqib Zulfiqar   {K:2770} 6/22/2005
Very nice.

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 6/23/2005
A beautiful landscape Angelo with a very dramatic sky and I personally love the grasses in the foreground, I like the depth in this one and in particular the way the light is hitting the sloping hills in the background, very pleasing composition, very well done the work in PS....:):)linda

Giorgio Goretti   {K:15471} 6/23/2005
great image Angelo,
impressive cloudy sky, but yes, there are some problems on the right side (the mesa?) who seems in some way, like 'over exposed, at least to my taste.
Great job anyway
Giorgio

Danny Brannigan   {K:16357} 6/23/2005
If it's all right for Linda it's all right for me. Well done.

Now you are talking baby :)
I like the dramatic sky in here, the PS editing is really creative, very well seen and captured,

Very dramatic sky in contrast with the soft green grass in the foreground. I like all the layers. Thanks for commenting on my image of Bridalveil Fall. -- Naomi

Judi Liosatos   {K:34029} 6/24/2005
Very beautiful landscape. I can relate to your concerns with PS. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way...but feel at ease my friend. This is coming across beautifully.

Thankyou also for your wonderful comments on my images.

Judi

Mark Julian   {K:35624} 6/24/2005
Another nice one. Great colors (colours since it's an international site - LOL) and a very dramatic sky. It almost looks like a spooky arm with a sketchy hand coming out of the upper left , going across, and holding back the other clouds - do you see it? (I always see things in clouds) They're all really good, what can I say..All the best, Mark

Gennaro Guarino   {K:12209} 6/25/2005
anche questa è molto bella, il cielo poi è eccezionale.

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 6/25/2005
Mark, now that you mention it, I can see a right arm with a hand kind of pointing a finger. Good spot! Thanks for actually looking at the picture (so many people seem to comment withoug actually seeing --- even me sometimes --- that it's a breath of fresh air when someone sees stuff)

Thanks!

Mary Brown   {K:68582} 6/27/2005
The colours and composition are fabulous. I love the dark cloud. It looks like a large dragon flying over the land--a friendly dragon, I'm sure.

Nossa que sonho esse lugar Angelo. Sempre tive vontade de conhecer as serras do Brasil. Mais uma vez seu trabalho e excelente! vou usar voce como inspiracao para me aperfeicoar :-)
um grande abraco.

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 6/28/2005
Julie,

Obrigado pelo elogio. Sinto-me sinceramente lisonjeado.

Ian Miller   {K:7909} 7/18/2005
Cracker of a shot Angelo. Wouldn't like to be swinging a 9 iron under that cloud lol, especially as I'm 2m tall.

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/18/2005
Hahaha! Not a good idea, Ian. But we didn't actually get any lightning. Some PS work has enhanced the drama of the clouds :)
