Hi Lukasz - thanks for the comment - The land actually slopes from left to right, check the sea level and vertical lines of the buildings. Regards.

Morgan Estill   {K:3786} 6/23/2005
GREAT colors and composition. I'm assuming you PS'ed the ocean, if you did, excellent work! If not, I have no idea how you got those colors and am EVEN more amazed.

Marusnik Bela   {K:11611} 6/23/2005
Wonderful colours, fantastic reflection, perfect colour contrasts.Outstanding shot!Congrats!

Joggie van Staden   {K:41275} 6/23/2005
Hi Morgan, thanks for the great comment. I did three things in PS. Slightly adjusted the brightness and contrast, applied a high pass filter (strength 2 and overlay) for the sharpness and did a 10% adjustment for the dark shades to make the pier just visible. Other than that it is the original. It was an extraordinary day with the an extremely strong wind which created the mottled effect on the sea surface - the colours was derived from the reflections from the clouds. I have many others, some of which I will upload in time.Kind regards.

Wonderful colour contrasts of orange against blue. It's wonderful just to experience these events and it's even better when you remember your camera!

Warren Brown   {K:7472} 6/24/2005
The colours are superb! Marvellous shot.

Aqeel Ahmad   {K:696} 6/24/2005
How do you manage to capture these colors without playing with the saturation in PS ?? This is simply breathtaking. Compliments!

Raf D   {K:10453} 6/25/2005
simply STUNNING!!!! fantastic place and you do it justice for sure. Great colours and detail in the water. Brillian shot! -- Kind regards, Rafael

Joggie van Staden   {K:41275} 6/25/2005
Thanks for the comment Aqeel, always welcome. My approach to digital is the same it always was with film - do it right on camera. The rigth exposure is critical, especially in the highlights. We have some leeway in the shadows though. I normally underexpose by between 0.3 and 1 fstop and sometimes I go to minus 3 or more to make sure I got the hightlights correct. For this particular shot I underexposed by 0.67 fstop which gave me nice rich colours. My experience with saturation enhancement is that you easily loose the fine details and subtle tones, especially in the reds and greens. If I do increase saturation, it is never with more than 5-8%. Kind regards and joyfull image making for you.
