About This is Natalia who I had the distinct pleasure of working with yesterday. She originally hails from the Ukraine.

Incredibly, she was a last minute stand-in for Claudia, who unfortunately had an emergency come up and had to leave for Mexico just prior to this park shoot.

This shoot caused quite a scene as I was also shooting 2 other swimsuit/fashion models. As you can imagine, there were non-stop streams of GWC (guys with cameras) coming up to us or shooting from a distance. Thankfully, the girls didn't mind.

And I can see why you would have an audiance.
This is nice. Love how you did the B&W with the color.
Something I have yet to learn.

Great work Pradeep, very creative approach to the glamour shot and nice use of lighting.

Hi Bryan, thanks for your comment.

A bit more background:

When we had reached the park in early afternoon (weekday), it was mostly populated by women & mothers with children.

The GWC herd stormed in about a half-hour into the shoot (and more or less rotated out for the next 6 hours). Even the 2 groups of 5 guys in the park patrols couldn't resist, and I thought for a moment they were going to kick us out due to complaints by some senior citizens; it turned out we made their day (and probably their month).

The GWC were practically throwing money at us trying to get in on the action, and that was always a hoot to see (of course we refused their offers of money). One particularly grubby guy wanted to give Natalia a hug, but since he just came from his landscaping job, I sent him packing.

It's a good thing we shot on a weekday afternoon. I'd hate to think what would have happened had it been a weekend.

oh wow, no kidding on a weekend it would have been a nightmare... i always try to keep a "grubbier" than that guy, guy around me at all times so that distance is kept...

it was an exhaustive shoot no doubt... great story behind the scenes too... i used to use a studio at the community college, and from time to time you would get beginners or gawkers.. especially if thye knew you had a woman in there... i always tried to lock the door.. but some always manage to get in...

i do like this shot a lot!!

Dude, if I was around, I'd be another GWC and I hope I would be more brave than to just "shoot from a distance"!

She is gorgeous and your close-up and wide-angle (are you sure it was a 200mm lens?) have enhanced the size of her legs (as if it was needed!) and created a very appealing image.

Pradeep B   {K:2235} 7/16/2005
Hi Angelo! ;-)

For this last part of the shoot, we shot on some rocks on a beach extension (into the water). In that area, people were far more respectable and even offered to give up their rock as needed. And, there were no GWC, just a few natural gawkers occupying nearby rocks. The GWC part was earlier in the day, in the water and along it when the models wore very little and changed outfits fast and furiously. I do recall there were people watching the show at a distance, sitting on picnic tables, and because we had no change-room, it must have been quite a show for them.

Now, it's interesting you mention my lens "enhanced the size of her legs" creating an "appealing image". I never realized that this could be one explanation for the appeal of this photo. I always thought it was because I shot at a very low angle (actually, one foot off the ground). I guess at that angle, the legs are naturally enhanced.

Cheers,
P.
