About A couple of brand new windmills set up just over the border in Belgium (which is only about 5 km from where I live). Some call it 'horizon pollution'.... I think pollution is a strange word to use as they produce very clean energy!! Taken the other day after a short cycle trip through the fields... They look like giant flowers to me... so I'm still 'sticking to my trade' more or less.... ;-D!!!

Wonderful silhouettes Petal, love the sky too and the diagonal composition you've created. Fit's perfectly in this project. The sun behind the clouds really sets this off for me...very well done my friend...:):)Linda

Such a great capture, altough it could have been a bit brighter when you've taken the picture somewhat earlier...

Nevertheless...Nice!!!

Thats a long winded about for you Petal! ;-)

I love the windmills like these ones (I love the old traditional ones too mind!). I think the shape of these is so elegant and graceful I can't possibly consider them as horizon pollution. Love the sunset lit clouds in the background, beautifully positioned and it adds a splash of colour to an otherwise slightly washed out sky. The only little niggle (hah - my turn for a change!) is that the left side windmill appears to be leaning to the right a bit - probably the result of lens distortions at the wide angle end of the lens range.
Otherwise this is a great shot!

Hi Alastair,
As I looked at the uploaded result I too noticed the slight tilt/leaning of the left windmill, but I didn't shoot it set on wide but on tele... so go figure.... One thing I can think of is: the foot of that windmill is set on a concrete base and maybe someone's spirit level was off... ;-D!!!

I sure like the looks of these in the countryside. Just wish we could get more of them in our country. Guess they are too clean and quiet for us over here. A great sky. don.

This is a wonderful landscape shot! Love the pastel skies and the sillouhette! Just gorgeous! :)

living in asia i could only wish they used more wind and solar energy here. the pollution is awful in many parts of asia. at any rate, the world wont consider this source of energy (wind) until the oil is almost gone (that day is coming soon).

nice to see a shot of these useful and, in my mind, beautiful machines.

warmest regards ~ james
