About Bororo lost great part of his traditional territory. It calculates that they occupied about 350.000 km2, today reduced the about 132.500 ha, distributed in five not contiguous areas, neither all juridically demarcated. In terms of demographic, the reduction was equally drastic. At the beginning this century, it calculates the total of your population between five and ten thousand individuals. Today they are approximately 800. They themselves call boe, term that mean people, human person. In these almost 300 years of contact Bororo could demonstrate that, in spite of the enormous suffered losses, they resist and try if affirm as a differentiated people, keeping lives your culture and your complex social organization.

Great charicter and nice contrast. I think a vertical composition may have been in order here. I would like to see the subject higher in the frame... IMHO

Belíssimas palavras no acompanhamento.

sad story but beautiful picture. The feathers almost match the drama going on in the sky. Beautiful B&W

Porra Bermak!
Que perfeito esse trabalho !
Excelente composição e o uso do B&W,
Qualidade fotografica e bom gosto!

Geat portrait! I like reading about his people. It is too bad that as the world grows that we lose so much of the diversity in culture. I guess it is a losing battle as the Mc Donalds of the world take over.

Paolo Longo   {K:4552} 8/16/2005
Great communicative effect!
Impressive expression of this portrait!
Nice contrast with the buildings on the background!
Congrats
