About Another from Bok Sanctuary. As part of my "pack light" experiment, I didn't have my macro lens with me so this is with my regular zoom lens. I think this one is much better than my first attempt at a dragonfly. Minimal PSP work.

Stunning capture Laurie!! I see you saved the best for last, desert huh...hehehe...Love it, Excellent dof, and without your macro lens too, love that out of focus background, those are my very favorite, the ones you never have to do anything to, yes, very very well done. I love how feminine these dragonfly's look and the browns and yellows in the wings are wonderful...well done Laurie...:):)Linda

Thanks Linda! I had the hardest time getting this little guy in focus. He was so small my camera wouldn't focus so I had to manually focus it. He was very patient and I was able to shoots lots of pictures. I have a head on shot of this same dragonfly that I'll post in the next couple of days.

Now that I know how many butterflies and dragonflies there are at Bok, I'll definitely bring my macro lens.

This is just fabulous Laurie, what incredible colours and details and especially without a macro lens. Did you use the flash ?

I had a little chuckle at the name of the sanctuary ... the name means something quite different in Turkish ;-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Thanks Salvatore! Your comment means a lot me because you have some amazing dragonfly shots in your portfolio.

I live in Orlando and this was my first trip to Bok Sanctuary. I wish I had gone sooner! :)
