About Made a few changes to the previous version. Fixed the colors, added some contrast which was needed badly, removed some unwanted shadows and redid the frame. Thank you all for those that commented on the previous version.. i would be glad if you told me what you think of it now. I think im ready with this photo now so this time your comments will stay! :)

Honest Comments are most welcome!

Handheld snapshot, only took 2 photos in a hurry. Cropped it in ps.

1/320 sec - F/9, Iso 200

Had to remove it once again.. made an error in the framing.

Would like to thank everyone that tries to help me through their comments! The best with places like this isnt how many awards you collect.. its the people you learn to know and all the help/tips/ideas you get here.. its like a school to learn photography! =)

This is what andrea giuseppe thought of the image (andrea made a comment before i had removed the version with a "buggy" frame),

Colors and sharpness are very good but I love the impact on my eyes from your photo.
My compliments to you Patrick.

so now to the final version ;)

I haven't seen the former once, but this works very well with the different blues and the outjumping orange...

the cropping is also very strong...

excellent...

Cheers,
Verena

Manu     {K:13076} 6/30/2005
Beautifuly coloured Patrick..love the composition and the tight crop...helps concentrate the mind. Have you tried a touch of skew or percpective correction in PS? It might be worth looking at the bottom line of the wall. There again just leave the image alone.

Just thought of another idea...crop of the bottom of the shot so that the whole image contains no plants or bits...?

Just some idea.

Cheers

Manu

Patrick Jacobson   {K:29151} 6/30/2005
Thank you Manu! =) I have used that tool already to fix the top part.. as our eye goes for that first i had to choose so i fixed the top part. I tried a narrower crop but didnt like it then.. but ill sure try again and see what happends! Thanks once again for your fine comment and ideas!

Regards,

Patrick J

Thank you Karen! =) It differs alot from my new serie but i tend to jump from different scenes and tecniques/styles all the time.. confusing for me and probebly confusing for those that look at my portfolio. Guess it takes a while to find ones style.. hehe.. =)

Cheers and have a great weekend!

Congrats on the award, Patrick. Its a very nice capture! I think its kind of funny because he is basicallhy painting the wood the same colour, but he is wearing such bright clothes. Almost like he mixed up the instructions!
