It transports you to the scene as if you are there. True-to-life colors noone can quibble with. The blue glass building and the white sails(my interpretation) of the dome grab the attention. I am curious about the curved buildings on the left and right though (not the blue tower in middle). Are they really built that way or am I missing something?

Lily, thanks for your detailed critique. The curves are due to the super wide lens, and the angle of view (together with a slight barrel effect from the PanoTools software during stitching). But I like the curves, because they lead my eyes nicely to the dome ;-)

I love the curved buildings and I agree it rounds itself up to the dome. Fasinating shot with interesting detail at every angle

Awesome image Carsten very interesting work, as usual I'm agree with you, the gradient tool is the better way to compensate contrast, i prefer it than the "hardware" one ;-) BTW can i ask some info to you? -how did you manage the nodal point? -did you use a tripod? -Did you lock the White Balance and use just some manual exposures? Still never used this software but maybe it's time to give a try ;-) congrats on your wonderful work. greetings Giorgio

Giorgio, thanks for detailed comment. Nodal point, hmmm.... I try to pan around the nodal point, but my panos are all handheld. Sometimes I have to correct afterwards with PanoTools/ PtGUI, but vertical pans are easier than horizontal, IMO. For matched color palettes, I convert all RAW with CaptureOne, you can transfer the exact color temperature and settings from one RAW to another, a nice feature for this purpose.
Regards
Carsten

Hi Carsten,
wow, you did a great job in capturing the whole scenery. the three pictures seem to fit together seamlessly, and the weird geometry is a winner. good work on the hightlights and depths, although I'm missing a clear black point.
the only minor thing for me is the part on the bottom. the "tent" seems to be cut off somehow.
Anyway, very good geometry composing. Have to go there as well ;-)
best wishes, Thilo

György, you are right ! Damn, I had just an afternoon in Berlin and mistaked the place (maybe that the restaurant "Alex" there confused me...). Thank you for your remark !
