About "The Cross and the Range"

Same day, same time, different viewpoint as http://www.usefilm.com/image/838724.html

I liked this one with the cross, though I did not need the cross to remind me of God when looking at this scenery.

+++

PS: just the usual basic work.

Tripod-mounted. Manual exposure.

Angelo, Do you carry this cross in your camera bag? great effort . I love the mist and coud which is hanging about. The fence gives us a good lead in to the picture. Good one . Well done.

I think the cross really adds to the photo, and without it would have taken so much away, even if it is good without. Superb photography and very well planned and executed. Perfect 7++!

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 7/2/2005
Hi Angelo,

nice calm view, my friend. The cross as the focus point, the steamy background, the fresh green grass... Fadel J. would love this one ;-)

good work!

best wishes,
Thilo

Tes paysages sont parfaitement composés Angelo.....tu me transportes...

Flowers     {K:11018} 7/3/2005
Breath taking scenery. The mist/fog in the lower parts of the mountain with the palm trees peeking here and there makes it visually very
interesting.

I won't reiterate what was already said but I agree with others that overall it has a very strong composition. Very well done.
Angelo, thank you very much for your kind comment on my picture.

angelo, what a beauty! love the convergeing lines formed by the fence, treeline, hills and the rising fog. all leading us to the old house. it evokes a strange feeling because of the cross that warns us of what we may find there.

my interpretation aside, it does remind me of home. i can smell the coffee brewing and feel the wet grass between my toes. thanks. great work!

take care,
tom

ps - even though your photo gives me two very different feelings, sometimes simultaneously, i'm not normally bipolar :^)

Luca Luca®   {K:2429} 7/4/2005
bellissima atmosfera!

Eric Peterson   {K:4210} 7/4/2005
Gorgeous shot and very well composed. You've done a great job maintaining detail throughout the image without burning out the mist. The white mist initially captures the eye which then starts following the fence into the scene and to the right until the off center cross finally captures the viewer's attention as the true subject of the photo.
Eric
