Colors are astonishing and the silhouette of the treeline is perfect. The refelection permits the symetry of composing the image with the horizon line in the vertical center of the shot, a choice that often doesn't work. It does here, obviously. Some people would have used Photoshop to brighten the blue sky at the right of the image to bring some chromatic balance and extra interest to the shot, perhaps, but I prefer it just as it is. Wonderful job!

Hi Mark,
Thanks again for your well thought comments.

No photoshop tricks here. Except the frame everything is straight from camera. I just waited for hours for the clouds to form this way and then capture the shot in 2 stops underexposed. I think luck is also a major factor for nature photographs. Somehow mother nature was kind enough that evening to form the clouds like this. Nature unfolds in amazing way every second. We get very few glimpse of them - if we are lucky :)

Thanks
Aurobindo

You live in a very priviledged location to be able to find scenes like this - Denver must be a dream with mountains just in the distance.

Aurobindo Saha   {K:2385} 7/18/2006
Yes Denver is a lovely place to stay. Surrounded with Mountains, Lakes, greenery. I am going back to my country (India) in September, but I am going to miss this place very much.

This picture is taken in a park named Washington Park which is located in heart of the city. We spent hours in this park. Last year summer one quite evening we were seeing sunset for hours and watching the way clouds took different formation. Luckily I had my camera. This picture was taken around 9 pm at night. We have sunlight here preety late in summer.
