Nice framing, lighting and dramatic effect. Well done! The kind of photo that would look nice on a wall someplace.

Very nice lady. I can bet Bill Voizin will visit this. He builds tall ship models. He will love this shot, as I do. T

Neal Nye   {K:15827} 7/4/2005
I love this one too. So wonderfully dark as it looms up in front of the sunset. It just radiates the history and romance of these ships.

Burak Tanriover   {K:16604} 7/4/2005

In my humble opinion Gayle, this one is better than your award winner. Like them all, kind of got an affinity for the age of sail. I see Terry beat me to the punch! Beautiful series Gayle. Regards--Bill Voizin

Duane Bennett   {K:974} 7/5/2005
Oooooh! I like these colors! Compared to "Majestic...", I actually like this one better. (But both are very well done.) I guess I'm partial to red sunsets. Congrats on the BIP. ---Duane---

Hugo de Wolf   {K:185017} 7/5/2005
Hi Gayle, Very powerful shot; love the radiant tones in the sky, and the towering masts and rigging. This would be my personal favourite, the lights on deck add the finishing touch IMO.

Cheers,

Hugo

Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. This is the right format for sure. I like how there's some detail in the silhouetted sails, and in the intricacy of the riggings.

Gayle's Eclectic Photos   {K:91003} 7/5/2005
hi there! Was hoping you would get a chance to see this series...my bro made same comment about the red sky,etc.!...hope to get some final shots in the daylight later today before they leave...thanks for comment!;>

Ciprian Ilie   {K:13215} 7/5/2005
Stunning, excellent colours and just enough light to get the right detail.

Regards,
Ciprian

This is a gorgeous series Gayle... I do believe it's been a photographer's delight as well! :) Dottie

P. Christine Skinner   {K:27338} 7/6/2005
Maidens in distress, swashbucklers, pirates, booty (as in treasure (-:) all brought to mind. Fabulous intricate detail in silhouette Gayle with three perfect little lights. Love the gradient hues of the sky. Very striking!! Definitely my choice for a BIP.

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/9/2005
Very nice tight framing, Gayle. This is a very nice series, where you captured lovely silhouettes against a beautiful sky.

My only wish is that you had captured the top of the mast, with perhaps a little less dark at the bottom.

Steve Rosenbach   {K:8315} 9/20/2005
Wow, this is amazing! You've done a wonderful job framing the ship - the masts are super design elements, and the colors of the sunset are beautiful.
