like the atmosphere you captured and created here; b&w adds magic to this place;
for the composition I would consider to cut the right part of the shot (to the stone) because it disturbs the view a little bit; maybe a square forma would work here?
anyway, like it
regards
Lukasz

Great wide angle shot, I love the look also. Looks like you shot on infrared film, but you said digital... Did you create the effect in Photoshop? and if so, what tool did you use, I'd love to know...

Black & White photo very good. Sky, sea and rocks perfect.

I like this image with the strong contrast perfectly rendered in B&W.
I only suggest to tilt CCW about 1 degree to get the horizon horizontal...
Anyway a great image Congrats. Fabio.

great sky Keith .. well composed as usual

John Finn   {K:1101} 7/5/2005
It looks as if it's tilting very slightly to the right, Keith. Also, are they sensor dust spots in the clouds?

Keith Fitzgerald   {K:1117} 7/5/2005
Well spotted John - excuse the pun, I developed the image from a raw file while on my coffee break so i just did tonal corrections and converted to black and white using channel mixer with layers. Usually I use free transform to correct the horizon

create duplicate layer, and use channel mixer to convert to mono - removing blue and incresing red roughly. Go back to background layer which is colour and use channel mixer again but this time increse blue and green just slightly and reduce red. You can now use the eraser tool to remove of the top layer to reveal the background. The top layer has the dramatic sky but lacks landscape detail while the background has a good landscape but poor sky - just combine them to your own liking. Any problems just ask,

keith
