About The elevated crosswalks caught my eye. I liked the contrasts between the light and dark as well as the background colors.

PS work: Not much was done except cropping and adjusting the brightness and contrasts. ISO was 100

I had a thin black border/frame around the image but was not sure if it helped or not so I removed it.

A very geometric composition Paul... Great silhouttes of the crosswalks... Love how you managed the light here... Excellent texture of the building in the background...

Cheers,

Very strong lines, Paul. I agree that a frame wouldn't have done much for this. I came looking for your "friends" photo, as I intended to comment on that, not having had the time earlier, but noticed this first. So this was the architectural shot you were encouraged to post? Great!

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 7/6/2005
thanks Roger.. actually, this not the photo that I was going to upload after seeing yours.... but I will upload it in the future :) glad that you like this one

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47515} 7/6/2005
I like the brilliant idea having your shot through the cross walk, it did produce a natural contrast between the two buildings, strong and fabulous work. Saeed

I love the contrast of light and dark. I also like the lines. Very strong composition. :)

Lori Stitt   {K:74434} 7/6/2005
GOOD EYE here Paul, looks like a neat concrete abstract. Of course that gold colored building is GREAT!!!

What a fantastic view, just one suggestion, I think it needs rotating just a tad counter clockwise. (or maybe it's an optical illustion) Just the 'feel' I get.

LOVE it,
Lori :)

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 7/6/2005
Thanks.. glad that you liked it.. I had already rotated the image, I think the different lines may seem to make the image a bit tilted...but a little more rotation probably would not hurt..

Linda Bique   {K:73835} 7/6/2005
I can see where you got your title from, I like that..and the image is very well seen, I like the depth/dimension created by the contrasting light and dark. I agree that the background orange really adds to this image. I also like the repetitive shapes in the walkway and on the building, very interesting...and in my opinion adds to the impact of this image..a great entry in the new project, I see both silhouettes and a kind of abstract look to this one..those stairways are great too....very well done Paul...good eye...:):)linda

Orazio Minnella   {K:46638} 7/7/2005

Fabrizio    {K:2543} 7/7/2005

compliment Fabrizio

Darlene Boucher   {K:15592} 7/7/2005
Very powerful image, simply beautiful!!

Markus Scholz   {K:22743} 7/8/2005
Very good composition with strong contrasts and lines, Paul. I think you were right in not framing it, because there are so many frames already integrated in the picture. Thanks also for your comment.

Regards, Markus

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52258} 7/8/2005
Good capture and photographic eye Paul... the intersection of the vertical and the transverse lines makes a wonderful abstract.
Well done my friend,
Khaled.

Kessia & Morgan UVA   {K:7265} 7/9/2005
definitely interesting passageways! i like the contrast with the two brighter colors from behind! nice work - Kessia

Massimo Di Maggio   {K:-56794} 7/9/2005
Great eye to see this, it seems to me a beautiful abstracts, I like the contrast between the strong colors and the dark passages. Thanks for your comment! Bye, Max

PS: about the border, I don?t like them at all because sometimes they are distracting from the real interest which is the image by itself, personally I tolerate only a shadow-drop (a PS action I found in a earlier version), but of course this is only my personal opinion :)

Morc Piantedos   {K:20496} 7/9/2005
..ermetic vision..not usual in your style. i like his originality in terms of vision and contrast...
a good work, Paul !
regards,
Marco

Ps: i agrer with you; a photo works good without frame too. now i use frame only when i find time to print my vision...

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 7/9/2005
thanks for your comment.. I agree with you about borders/frames... that is why I don't do them often.

Roberto, thanks for the comment.. hard to tell if it is tilted or not..so many different lines are angled hard to know which to use as the horizon...glad that you liked it..
