One BIG cross in the sky....good ol' New York!
If I were to be picky...the bottom left and bottom right of the sky seems a little bright...just as well I'm not being picky, eh?
Great overall composition with just the right amount of bend on the fisheye.

This image really rocks! I had to steady myself for a moment to view it properly. The fisheye, once again, is the perfect lens to capture the mood of being among all those tall buildings.
Even though the viewer knows exactly what this is, the perspective and fisheye distortion give it an abstract feel.

hugo, this composition is great. i like that you stood below the lighted sign on the lower left. the protruding lights make for an interesting foreground element often missing from this type of shot. it's not every day that you see a near-far composition looking up! i also like that you offset the X created by the sky just a bit. combined with the fisheye effect it makes for a very organic, flowing shape. very pleasing. very well done!
there is something that disturbs me here tho. but it's probably just a product of resizing the jpeg. i can see what appears to be artifacts on the sky and a bit on the sign itself. i'm not sure how you resize, but i found that resizing D100 shots to 25% works best and produces the least possible number of aberrations and compression artifacts. this will result in an image of 752 pixels on the long side which should give you plenty of room to add a frame and still fit in the uf upload limits.

Hugo, your assured use of the extreme fisheye is most impressive! I think I would have made all the verticals run through the center of the FOV, making them all straight, but your slightly off-balance view has its own attractions. This one joins the other one in my favourites.

thanks for your indepth analysis. Very useful. As you know, I don't spend as much effort in resizing my images, and I had to look very closely to see the artefacts, but you have a point there. I'll definately bear it in mind... thanks for the tip!

Hi Roger, Interesting suggestion. I noticed that I go for a deliberate tilt in my photos more often than not with the 10.5mm, also deliberately staying away from centered and symmetric images. In this case, however, it could've worked. Need to keep it in mind to regain the versatility of my photos. Thanks!

..and as first of the three corners it is fantastic.. I have thought in this period, (where I have many photos but nobody attracts to me) to points seen particular, in the last photos I have tried to become small and to imagine how much is big the world as an example for one ant. now the world for we is the moment to see how much is large, for your photos! I very appreciate the sights from that point much powerful, moreover the idea to render the photo square is strong! a species of "holgaroid" but the geometric game of the sky as crossing is fantastic. the much beautiful cross of the sky.
I was looking at her with "F11", he took a dome effect 3D!

The first wrapped me in its arms...this one releases me to the sky. There isn't the same sense of "being there" in this one...leaves me a bit cold emotionally, but the composition is strong. I notice it does sing for many others, so this is just a personal preference thing. Hugs. Antonia

I love the distorted geometry of this shot. For some reason this comes off as overexposed to me, not sure if that is from the way you are presenting it or simply some of the blown-out areas reflecting off the buildings. The things that kind of breaks it for me are the lights for the billboard though.

Hi Stefan, the photo is slightly overexposed. The contrast was rather big between the dark signs and the shade and the bright sky. It's less noticable in the b&w version, though. And I applied some masking, to try to reduce the blown out parts even further by riviving the contrasts and details in the dark parts. Couldn't do anything with the blown out sky anymore. Thanks for your comment.

Hey Hugo, je hebt hier een pracht standpunt, de kruizing in de lucht is heel mooi. Ik heb nog nooit eerder zo'n pakkende foto gezien recht naar de lucht. Echt heel mooi. De compositie is gewoon heel mooi, verder geeft het B&W wat meer drama aan de foto wat gewoon heel mooi is!
