ED, this simply portrait exactly showes your talent in controlling the light and mood, bravo for this great and unique capture/ i would glad if you see my shots.

Ellen Smith   {K:14418} 7/9/2005
10++ No critique needed it's perfect.

Roger Williams   {K:83282} 7/9/2005
Lovely portrait, Ed. You are so fortunate to be in a position where you can take so many photographs of children. It's getting much harder these days. I'm amused by the fact you used a 645 camera but cropped it square! I moved from 6x6 to 645 years ago because I found I was always doing the reverse...

Ed Krebs   {K:853} 7/10/2005
Roger - I love the square and I often crop my 35mm negs that way.

Terry S.   {K:3083} 7/10/2005
Delicate pose and beautiful lighting - your portraits are wonderful.

Pat Fruen   {K:12073} 7/10/2005

David Hofmann   {K:23830} 7/10/2005
Absolutely amazing photo! Funny because I just recently picked up a copy of the book "Children" that features you and some of your great portraits including this one. It is really nice to see real prints instead of online. I'd love to see some of your original prints someday.

Gertrud Gozner   {K:14222} 7/10/2005
beautiful! great lighting!

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34595} 7/11/2005
eheheh, you are a "square photographer" :))))
Also with a 6x4,5 you always think in 6x6 ;)
Excellent light and expression.
Pyro also this time?

Bye

Dirk Noort   {K:10205} 7/11/2005
An other master piece, stunning!
One question Ed, do you scan from negative or from picture?
Regards,
Dirk.

Ed Krebs   {K:853} 7/12/2005
Dirk - All of my images (except the 3 or so digital ones) are scanned from prints that I made myself, in my smelly old darkroom. I've been doing it for the last 16 years, but I learned how to print back in the 70's, and it hasn't changed one bit, except that the paper is much eaiser to work with now. I love low tech.

Dirk Noort   {K:10205} 7/12/2005
Ed, thanks for your reply! I bought over the last couple of weeks all my darkroom equipment on e-bay.
I bought a durst 60 B&W enlarger, a digital durst timer, and a 75 mm nikkor lens, and also a 35 mm nikkor lens.
I will take a course here in Toronto at a college, to do my own prints.
I will of and on ask for some advice from the master, if that is okay!
Regards,
Dirk.

Hi Ed, like the natural light on the face and her intense look, very good portrait. I can see that you have an own lab, like the result.

best regards, Pia
