About Since its raining today I had to restrict my photography to inside the house. This is a rose sitting on a mirror. I had this one and one with both roses completely in focus, but I like the blurry reflection. Just some cropping and toned in PS.

Very clever idea that has worked really well... love the colour tone here... adds greatly to a romantic mood.

We get too much rain over here in UK... today though I think we had your sun )

Laurie, the tones on this are amazing! A classic take on a still-life, and you pulled it off just right! I agree with your choice of having the reflected rose blur out - it really adds to the romantic feeling here!

One of the things I love about your work is that you have the ability to think of new ways to do things that are so obvious in hindsight but so effective when you present them. This image is no exception. The composition is superb Laurie, with the main subject in the top left corner the eye naturally falls away to the lower right, taking in the reflection. I think the choice of the blurred reflection was a good one too, as t helps accentuate the main subject, ie.e the real rose. Well done!

Thanks Alastair! I was trying to do something different with these roses apart from the standard shots (although I did some of them as well). I experimented with water, a mirror, and different lighting sources and this one turned out the best. Glad you liked it. :)
