Great job. I like the red surrounding the man. In fact, why don't you use it. Crop right in close to the man so it is a vertical image and the only background is plain red. I think it would have more impact.

Hope everything went well.

Judi

Yes, I like that version very much. Well done.

Judi

Jon O'Brien   {K:10503} 7/12/2005
I am in agreement - the cropped version is a bit more stark and a bit more startling. I might cut just a hair more off the bottom to get rid of the dark line down there. Love the horn growing out of the head effect. Nice shot.

Cheers,

Jon

Good capture Ameed the detail is super.

Was this with an external flash or the onboard flash ?

Best wishes,
Steve

ps I am saving up for the 20D myself lol

Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42188} 7/12/2005
Hi Steve,
This was the stage light, I didn't use any kind of flash at all,
Man the 20D is amazinggggggggggggggggggg, I would highly recommend it.
But Buy the body only, don't buy it with the standard lens,
For lenses, you will have to do your research, but be warned, the lenses gunna cost you an arm.
My wallet still didn't recover from the Camera yet :) When It is recovered, then I will start looking for lenses :) the problem as I almost shoot everything, Portraits, Events, Night, Landscapes bla bla bla .. so I need lots of lenses, and the lenses are too damn expensive, lol ..
Best of luck in your saving my friend, Cheers,

Stephen Bowden   {K:64516} 7/12/2005
Thanks for the info Ameed, I have heard that about the kit lens (non USM) but then I have seen the pictures that Keith Saint and Mark Evans have taken using this lens.

I have done a lot of research on lens and quite like the Sigma lenses (if I cannot afford the Canon ones lol).

Best wishes,
Steve

Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42188} 7/12/2005
Hi Steve,
Well I have nothing at all about third party lenses, the USM works just fine for me, the 70-300MM USM is very nice, but I think there is much better for the same price.
What I would suggest you to totally avoid, is the standard lens the 18-55mm .. man it is a joke,
Best of luck .. and please let me know which lenses you decided to pick,
cheers,
