Excellent macro, Steve. Very nice and sharp details, great soft light and beautifully blurred background. Very pleasant and attractive work.

Maybe it could be improved if the bottom petal hadn't been cut by the frame.

I shot lots of variations of this flower. I chose this one over ones which showed the entire blossom, but I really don't know why. It just felt "right". This was shot indoors, with natural light coming through a window. Outside, where they were blooming, it was raining and windy, so I cut one and brought it inside. The blue background is a blue lawn chair I used to create a neutral background.

I too would have liked to have seen the whole flower, but the composition that you feel is the best is what counts. It is beautiful the colours and detail are stunning, and the background colour really works to bring out the best in the iris

The wedding between geometry and nature make often beautiful suns. Splendid colors and background. I take it with me in my favorites. I love flowers too Steve.
Cheers.
