these clouds are amazing Tim! like this boat on the right as well - it closes the whole composition; the square format changed the mood of the shot and makes it more intriguing;

Hi Tim, Seems like you have been inactive for a very long time, too. Nice to see you back with such a smashing photo. Could probably dodge the darkest areas a bit to revive the contrasts and details there, but the composition and the clouds are jsut plain amazing. Great shot!

Haven't seen your stuff for a while but this one is awesome...! The shape of the crop and frame add so much to the "bigness" of the location.
How do you get such great color balance with the D70 as I am still struggling with mine?

Wonderful cloud formations and a beautiful image. It's a shame the foreground's so shaded, an ND grad might have helped to balance the exposure so that we could see more of the boat.

I'm jealous of the clouds you have, Tim. Nice balance between the turmoil in the clouds and the quiet mirror of the lake. You mention the ship, but it's rather too small here to see its lines... perhaps using a wider angle and taking it from closer would show us what you mean?
