Verena,
Very nice, but I think the other image is clearly superior.

in my opinion - composition wise - there is just too much to look at, too many lines and shadows (for my taste, at least), feels like there'se no place to breath. covered indeed :)
i like this one better though...

One fantastic contribution to the lines project......a zebra on a LSD trip

But here I think there is more harmony with the lines and shadows...
Congratulations on both. :-)

ich denke, die erste Version ist etwas besser.

Hi Verena, I find this one much more interesting, as it has a very distinct vanishing point inside the photo. That makes the bars "veer" from left to right, showing more versatile angles in the bars forming the roof.

It's a very busy image, maybe a bit too busy, though; lots of things happening, and the almost neglectable difference between the "real" bars and their shadow create a very strong pattern. Very interesting. Also to read other's opinion. I doubt if we are of much help, there doesn't seem to be any concesus over which one is better.

Still, I do find it fascinating.

Cheers,

Hugo

this is a great shot for me, I like the game of lines and shadows so much!
Congrats.

This one was also great! I think they work both two.. no point of choosing anyone. =) Here the perspective and widelens effect makes it cool.. the lines and shadows of the lines adds much!
