About The lion statues were taken down early 2005 while reconstruction on the bridge is under way. This is part of an extensive rehabilitation program to reconstruct the Bridge of Lions. The Bridge of Lions was built in 1927 and two Lion statues were placed on the west end of the bridge. This Lion was the one located on the southwest end.
Today, there is a temporary bridge in place until the old bridge is rebuilt and meets DOT standards. The statues are to be reconditioned and replaced when the reconstruction is completed in 2010. This bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

This image was taken in October of 2004. Color obtained by use of a 85A warming filter. Minor PS enhancements which are as follows:
1. Slight Gaussian Blur to the background to reduce noise.
2. Slight level adjustment
3. Slight sharpening of the lion itself

Comments and critiques on this image is greatly appreciated. Thank you for looking.

The king looks good with the sun. The post processing is excellent, if you hadn't told us, I wouldn't have known. The blur looked like it came from camera settings. Well done Michael.

This was taken right about midnight, and yes the clouds were blurred in the camera. The intent of the added blur was to remove some of the noise that is present with night photography at higher ISO settings. I thought the added blur gave it a better effect. I am going through deleting lots of files and decided to save this one, for now.
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
