About This image was captured on the night of the largest full moon for 18 years. I had set out to capture an image of the rising moon and realising I was running a bit late I put my foot down. I noticed a set of lights some way behind me but accelerated away, driving down the lanes near my house to the hill where this tree stands. I reached the footpath that leads to the tree and quickly parked the car into a field entrance. As I opened the boot of my car to grab my camera backpack a police car pulled up behind me. 'Was that you back there sir?'. 'Erm, yes'. 'Travelling a little quickly weren't we sir?'. 'I wasn't going that quickly.'. 'Hmm, why have you pulled into this field sir?'. 'I'm just about to take a photograph.'. 'At this time of night sir. Can I ask what you're photographing?'. 'The largest full moon in 18 years.'. 'Ah, in that case sir I'll leave you to it!'

Ah, the risks we photographers must take for our art!

I didn't use any filters for this image and the colours are completely natural (well, Velvia anyway). I loved the shape of the tree against the exotic colours and the way the sky darkens near the top of the tree to encapsulate it in blue light.

Excellent - needed a tree like that to place against that fine sky. Glad the policeman was sympathetic to your race against time.
