Outstanding capture here, it's not often that you get a hummingbird to pose like this!

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47644} 7/13/2005
The capture of serenity, a great light which has its impact on the main subject, the super sharp details and clarity of the birds stands beautiful out of the surrounding. Saeed

What beautiful irridescent colours! Lovely composition too... Love the trellis - diagonal lines always work so very well in a photo!

Wow, what a great capture Laurie. I see some hummingbirds in my backyard but by the time I get my camera ready it's gone haha. Amazing how you composed it so nicely in the time you had, well captured!

A hummingbird sitting still, very well captured.

Toshi,
I think it would be next to impossible to get a shot like this with a hummingbird in the wild. Even in the aviary at butterfly world, this was a difficult shot. They move so fast! :)

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 7/14/2005
Another one you managed to catch resting! What a beautiful bird - you captured the beautiful sheen on the feathers nicely with that lighting! The big, chunky lattice is a little distracting, but you still got a really nice DOF and composition with the hummingbird off-center and looking into the frame. Nice work!

Robert Kocs   {K:89061} 7/14/2005
Oh, what a pretty little modell dear Laurie! Nice composition, amazing colors, fine detauls. Simple great work! Congratulations!
Greetings! Robert

Superb capture!Great reflexes LAurie. I like the wooden frame, it breaks the green very nicely and enriches the composition, great eye!!! -- Warm regards, Rafael

Nice capture. You don't catch one of them sitting still very often...
