About This little village, just a few miles from Crovie, was the location for much of the film 'Local Hero", to which Mark Knopler wrote the soundtrack. (His picture, taken in the local phone box, hangs proudly on the wall of Pennan's one pub!)

Another fabulous place for a stroll and shoot!

Best regards to all,

Chris

I love little old fishing villages like this...They always have so much character and interesting tales.... As for Local Hero, that is one of my favourite tracks of all time!
Great image Chris!

Everything is exposed so well. Even the moss in the water is visible. Thanks for the about.

Chris, I would like to nominate your tree silhouette in Martock (misty morning in martock I think it was) for a BIP. Would it be Ok to change the project name to "Silhouettes"?

Chris,

Seems like a nice place. A nice little harbour and some interesting coloured stones around it.

I do feel as though there is a bit too much foreground included. I wasn't there, so I don't know if it was possible or dangerous, but how about getting closer to the edge and including more of the village in shot, especially the bit currently behind the verge?

Just a sugestion from someone who hasn't been there, so take it with a pinch of salt!

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 7/13/2005
Love this angle Chris,
the foreground is GR8!

I feel like I'm seeing a nice 'travel log' of your country! (maybe you should do a collage) !!! :)

This picture really is delightful. These rooftops don't look a whole lot different from here, just the setting.

Good job,
Have a GR8 evening/day,
Lori :)

That is a quaint little place. Must be low tide. Lots of photo opportunities.. Don.

Dave Stacey   {K:120173} 7/14/2005
Great colours here, Chris! They add a few splashes here and there, keeping your eye moving about the image.
Dave.

I take your point about the foreground, Angelo, but it was a pretty steep drop and I didn't want to get too close. Part of my object was to try and convey the way in which this little village was sheltering under the cliff. As for taking it again, it's 600 miles from where I live!! )
Best regards, Chris

Another great capture and I love these frames you do !!
Cheers Julie

Another perfect picture postcard. (It's even the right shape!) Your photos never flag or pall, always fresh and attractive. Bravo!

Roger Williams   {K:83282} 7/14/2005
WAIT A MINUTE! You're shooting the fabulous 10.5mm fisheye! Great choice, Chris. Now you know what I mean about "de-fishing," huh? Very nicely done on this one. You can also do some more panoramic shots, too, with the very wide-angle coverage. Do try the curvilinear fisheye effect, too! What fun!!

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 7/14/2005
Sorry to get you all excited, Roger, but the 10.5 fisheye was a blip in the UF lens choosing mechanism! I'll go in and correct it! Thanks for the kind comments.
Best regards, Chris

Chris, Beautiful village. Looks like you were close enough to that edge or "oops". Colors are great contrasting off the white buildings. Looks like a postcard photo. Marilyn
