About Subject background: Well, I'm back from holidays ;-) If you think you've seen "creative" postboxes, then you're probably wrong! Look at this sweet mess. It fits to the scene, that a small STOP sign is placed right between the boxes. I can see the postman Kevin Costner running down the road... And I'm waiting with my 14mm lens gun.

PS concept: Some work on the colors to get the apocalyptic look.

Will comment on your massive picture upload the next hours and days.

Absolutely wonderful! The stop sign is perfect with all its tattered bills and notices. This tells a great story. Well done . . .

Best regards,

title fits this surreal scene perfectly...i'm reading 'The Crying of Lot 49' currently and this shot would seem a fitting cover for this book. very cool work Thilo...

Well seen and shot my dear Thilo... Glad to have you back from holidays... I presume you got a lot of pics... :)

Great colors... Love the composition and excellent perspective... I am sure the postman does not have to look for them...:)

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Thilo,
They all seem to have a personality of their own. It's as if they are patiently waiting to cross the road. Maybe late at night when no one is around they all start moving around like those broomsticks in "Fantasia"

Hi Thilo, Excellent description. it does fit the image. That makes two interesting things: First, the atmosphere in text and image, and secondly, the actual subjects in the photo. Cool! I've never looked at postboxes that way...:)

Hope you had a good time,

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Ursula,

jetzt wo du es sagst ;-)

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/16/2005
Very interesting, Thilo.

I wonder why the sign reads "STOP" if it's in Spain. Surely it should be "PARE" or something in Spanish. Or is there some new EU directive about this? :)

I don't find the boxes "apocalyptic", though I do like your angle and approach.

Burak Tanriover   {K:16604} 7/17/2005
I like the composition a lot.I like also the colors,
best regards
