About Welcome to the place where everyone starves,
Welcome to the place where everyone's cruel,
A place where you see violence and greediness.
This is the place where I will die,
and my death be a reminder of how cruel man can be...

Welcome to my place...

Manu     {K:13076} 7/14/2005
Classic piece of doco work Larry...especially the contradiction of smiley face and "spaced-out" face. Great piece of BW conversion also.

Cheers

Manu

This picture doesn't pass inobserved. Excellent tones and composition. The expression of the girl makes a violent contrast with the title. A great rapresentation that small things makes happiness.

The cruelty and neglect of Man!Excellent but very sad photojournalism! They look so dirty! Just a shower and a good meal would do wonders! I do see a cross hanging from Her wrist!Maybe She will grow to know and love Jesus!Who says...You must all humble Yourselves and come to Me as children!
Excellent work My friend!!!!Thanks for sharing Your world with Us!
GOD bless!.....................John

Hi Larry, The little one is not missing a leg is he? I just hope not. The smile of the girl is a contrast to the title but it's very effective because for a minute it confuses you. The B/W tones are amazing for your type of camera.

Flowers     {K:11018} 7/30/2005
Saving it to my favorites.

Roland Lacson   {K:12214} 7/30/2005
Larry kamusta? My mom once told me that we live in a cruel world, as I continue this journey called "Life" & witness poverty, cruelty, injustice (Especially Our Part Of The World), she is so right reg that matter. Anyways excellent street life shot & the tones are superb, best wishes.

Hi Larry,
I just read your Bio and browsed through your portfolio. I have to say that you are definitely on the right track! Your images are far advanced for the amount of experience you have. I think some of this comes from the areas you list as your inspirations. 100 Photos That Changed The World and National Geographic can provide lots of inspiration. But, you still have to get the shots...And you have!
Great work so far Larry! Keep it up!
If you haven't already seen it, I recommend you find a copy of "The Family Of Man" Exhibition. For some additional inspiration.
Andre

Ive been trying to read books about photography especially those from the past. Lately, Ive been trying to figure out Ansel Adams' works... He's such a BIG guy in photography! thanks again!!!

keep shootin' from the heart,
LarryM.P.

Judging by your work Larry, (Especially your journalistic type photos, you will love "Family of Man"
503 pictures from 68 countries created by Edward Steichen for the Museum of Modern Art. copyright 1955.
